Wraith, You should know by now, I try and make response to many of your writings…so here’s the attempt: (Must be nice being enabled to put paragraphs into place) *sigh/smile* ………………………………………………..

Child child!
You hurry me so: proceeding --
Why the herbs are growing --
Where once were the dandelions! /////

Child child!
Ever beckoned forward by thee: coming --
To the well --
Where water freely flows /////

“Child, Mother sees thee --
Though oft it is you seem to run and hide from me --
But tell me what is it --
For right here you are now in my presence found?” /////

Child child!
Ever urged onward by thee: standing --
In the evening amidst --
The fireflies that are glowing! /////

Child child!
You won’t even allow me to rest: viewing --
Fields of heather --
With streams of silver. /////

“Child, Mother sees thee
Though my best efforts are frail,
Now what is this you are mumbling --
Bout that mountain in the distant?” /////

Child child!
I know you think me foolish: coming --
Why this distant garden --
Is filled with flowers lavish! /////

Child child!
I am trying not to question: seeing --
Beyond all of nature’s bounty --
That the Creator hath made thee marvelously! /////

“Child, Mother sees thee --
And all that attracts thee --
And yet I can not accomplish to attain --
The understanding that thou hast gained.” /////

Child child!
I am trying to be sharp: peering --
Into the heavenly vastness the clouds --
Both far and near! /////

Child child!
Please think me not dumb: listening --
To the birds that chirp --
The squirrels that scamper… /////

“Child, Mother sees thee --
And all the wonders thou doest behold --
Now child tell me --
What’s on thy mind?” /////

Child child!
You want me to open my heart: attending --
You say those herbs of that garden --
Give healing to those that need mending. /////

Child child!
You want me to open my mind: seeing --
To yet another world --
And what the Creator hast given to thee! /////

“Child, Mother sees thee --
That thou art attempting to know wisdom
What is it you want me to understand --
Give me to know.” /////

Child child!
I am a sinner you say: forgiveness needed --
To confess to the deity --
From whence you were sent! /////

Child child!
Though sight have you not: coming --
To gates far in the distant made of pearls --
And the forts are golden. /////

“I see thee Lord --
In the Innocents wisdom and understanding,
And I beg they forgiveness --
Open now my mind and heart that they might see.” /////

Cometh beloved, heaven’s gates are open wide… Connie

Good work, althogh I wouldn't say that it's a Christian poem, even though the sentiment of God and Heaven are in it.

In the hopes of a discussion prevailing and one not given to “flame wars” I should like to give a bit of a comment that comes with a question… I guess it is I question why it is Kragiel and by the way Greetings to you Kragiel for in no wise has there ever been problems between us and I certainly want for none to exist rather I just wonder, well, why it is you find this not to be of Christian in nature. It is not only this writing but too others that have came to be on this set of Boards except it was in the case of one who on numerous occasions and will remain nameless, has stated they are one of Christian faith/values etc… and I have made brief comment but there was a comfort level in talking it out that was lacking where as here under Wraith’s post I feel a certain freedom of speech, of communicating ones thots. Maybe because I don’t feel I come into judgment here. Let me explain and I will attempt to be brief. Like I’ve noticed that to some it seems ONLY writings at a certain level of writing are deemed worthy to be considered chrisitan/spiritual and somehow other writings, lyrics are thot to be ONLY of the secular. To me there have at times been those lyrics deemed by others (not necessarily on these Boards, just in general) to be unchristian and rather to the level of secular that to my personal spirit there has came to be a feeding and a longing hungering of truth satisfied. In like manner there has been some music deemed religious/christian/spiritual that does nothing to lift my spirit or cause inner growth to a level of higher contemplation. I mean like so oft there are multiple meanings and deeper levels to be understood so for me I have came to a point of seeking not to make value judgments as to writings being considered ither secular or of a religious/christian nature. (All goodness I am bothered for I want to be enabled to make a paragraph here…anyhow) True, there is no mention of The Christ in this particular writing and “god” can be deemed whatever/whomever it is that one seeks for and worships from money to sex to desiring the trendiest most fashionable car/home/jewelry/etc. and “heaven” can be made to mean the attaining of whatever that “god” was considered (please consider this is where a new paragraph starts) For me though in this writing I felt it was I suppose that tug of Christianity and more so in it’s purest forms for it was a Child that was represented. I know, I know, someone could easily be thinking, “But you haven’t met so in so child. Such a naughty child and its demon I will beat the hell out of.” To me the Child contained in this writing is as those ones spoken of by The Christ where they were not to be turned away, where their angels hover close, where doing as unto the least is considered of a value high and thereby children are lifted up and not shot down. To bad that many religious leaders somehow just haven’t “gotten it’ when abuse in all its despicable forms rears its ugly head and children are horribly abused. Sometimes it is that little child as it were that leads us… if we the ones adult and so worldly will allow… anyhow, Thanks for listening. Life Flows on. Connie

CG, I never said the poem was secular at all. My comment was certainly not a stab at Wraith's ability at all, however, it wouldn't be considered Christian to me because it's not promoting the way of Jesus Christ. It is, however, spiritual, rather than secular. Many believe in God, and are not Christian.
